Foster Care Clinician

About the Role

We’re hiring a Foster Care Clinician to provide therapeutic and clinical support for children placed in licensed foster homes across North Carolina. This role focuses on enhancing the emotional, behavioral, and developmental well-being of youth in Family Foster, Therapeutic Foster, and Intensive Alternative Family Treatment (IAFT) placements. You’ll use evidence-based treatment approaches to support long-term recovery, stability, and permanency for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic services to children and families in foster placements
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to address trauma and behavioral needs
• Support foster parents and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and agency standards
• Travel within assigned regions to meet clients and conduct home visits

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
• Active provisional or full clinical licensure in North Carolina (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and family systems approaches

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with foster care populations
• Familiarity with Therapeutic Foster Care and IAFT programs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
