Lead Skills Trainer / Youth Mentor

About the Role

Clarvida is seeking a Lead Skills Trainer / Youth Mentor to oversee, supervise, and coordinate the work of Skills Trainers and Youth Mentors in the region. In this leadership position, you will provide direct supervision and mentorship to staff while delivering youth mentoring services for youth referred by the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS).

You will ensure that youth referred to the program receive high-quality, individualized services that promote skill development, placement stabilization, and long-term independence. This role requires both leadership responsibilities and direct service delivery, including occasional travel to support community-based services.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, supervise, and support Skills Trainers and Youth Mentors in your region
• Ensure that referrals, assignments, and service coordination are managed effectively
• Conduct youth mentoring and skills training services when needed
• Develop and implement service plans to address behavioral needs and skill-building
• Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with regional partners and stakeholders
• Ensure that youth receive appropriate, individualized services
• Monitor program compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
• Provide oversight to ensure quality documentation and reporting
• Support professional development through regular training and mentorship

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or a related field preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience (additional education may substitute for experience)
• Ability to work a full-time, 40-hour schedule
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and active auto insurance
• Ability to pass fingerprinting and state/federal background checks
• CPR/First Aid certification (provided by agency)
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification (provided by agency)
• Tier 1 Collaborative Problem Solving certification (provided by agency)
