Vocational – IPS Specialist

About the Role

Clarvida is seeking a Vocational / Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness. In this role, you will support clients in identifying, obtaining, and maintaining competitive employment or educational opportunities aligned with their personal goals.

ACT services are delivered directly in the community, including client homes, places of employment, and local settings. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide ethical, person-centered vocational services that support independence, recovery, and long-term stability.

This position includes client transportation using a company vehicle as needed and participation in a rotating on-call schedule, which earns additional paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the vocational specialist on the ACT Team
• Support clients in identifying educational and employment goals
• Assess the impact of mental illness on employment and vocational functioning
• Develop and implement individualized employment strategies
• Provide job readiness training, skill development, and ongoing employment support
• Network with local employers and community partners
• Link clients to financial supports and community resources related to employment
• Track client progress and assist with workplace challenges as they arise
• Meet with clients primarily in community settings, with some office or virtual work
• Provide client transportation using a company vehicle as needed
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately one week every 7–10 weeks)
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Rehabilitation Counseling or related field preferred)
• At least one (1) year of training or supervised work experience in vocational rehabilitation or employment support
• Experience working with adults with severe mental illness preferred
• Valid State Driver’s License in good standing
